SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS
These volunteer opportunities involve things you can do to support the work that goes on at our Shelter - you can even do some of them from home!

Prayer Pals: Anonymous Prayer Pals are assigned to every resident and interested staff member to pray daily for their designated Pal.

Birthday Squad: Organizes monthly group birthday celebrations with cake and "small" gifts.

Fashion Show Committee: Plans, organizes and implements annual fashion show fund-raiser.

DIRECT-AID VOLUNTEERS
These volunteer opportunities entail direct involvement with our resident children and require special registration, background checks, orientation and training. Although you need not speak Spanish to volunteer at Bokenkamp, bilingual volunteers are especially welcome!

Mentor Program: Volunteers provide life-skills mentoring for small groups of residents at least once a week for a minimum of one month.

Open-Water Certified Life Guards: Accompany residents on beach and fishing field trips.

Stephen Ministry: Specially trained lay ministers serve as spiritual mentors to children and staff. New training sessions will be scheduled soon.

Bible Study: Recruiting now for small-group study leaders for weekly Bible studies for residents.

Educational Tutors: Bilingual tutors for math and reading.
